Other Charities

Our Parish is involved in the local and the wider community. The following charities have in the past held 'Sunday Coffee Mornings' as guests of the parish. These events provide an excellent opportunity to reach out to those not of our Faith. Would you like to help any group listed here? Why not have a chat with the named representative? Any support you can give will be very welcome.

Our current list includes:
Alzheimer’s Society. Moira McCann 587718
This is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. The Society seeks to raise awareness and support wherever it can, including in Parish communities such as ourselves.
We support Alzheimer's Society through Sunday Coffee Mornings.
Landmine Clearance. Monica Spalding 582612 The 'Mines Advisory Group' or ‘MAG’ is a humanitarian action organisation that has been clearing mines since 1989 from some of the most dangerous areas in the world. Its 'first in, last out' policy ensures that other aid agencies work on safe ground. If you would like to help at Coffee Mornings, or to give support in any way, have a word with Monica. (MAG's website: www.magclearsmines.org)
Leukaemia Research. Parish Office 292726
Formed in 1960, the trust is the only national group exclusively researching into the many forms of blood disorders in children and adults. It receives no government grants. Therefore, it depends entirely on voluntary donations to support the work of doctors and scientists at hospitals throughout the country. Parish support is given through money raised at Sunday Coffee Mornings.
Parkinson’s Disease Society. Margaret Everett: 29249
This charity is dedicated to supporting all people with Parkinson's, their families, friends and carers. Research into the cause of Parkinson's and how to improve current treatments and care techniques has been the main focus of the Society's work for 35 years. If you can help to support the Sunday morning Coffee Morning or would like further information, do contact Margaret.
